  • How do I apply for Financial Aid?
    The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the only application required when applying for federal, state, and institutional aid at Messenger College.   • What is Messenger College's FAFSA School Code?
    The Messenger College school ID code for the FAFSA is 030926. Enter this number when prompted.
  • How many credit hours must I take in order to be eligible for Financial Aid?
    To be considered a full-time, a student must be enrolled in at lest 12 credit hours per semester. Six (6) credit hours is considered half-time and aid is reduced by 50%. Six credit hours is the minimum enrollment to qualify for student loans.
  • How much does MC cost?
    Tuition Rate $415 per credit hour Academic Program Fee $400 per semester Student Life Fee $400 per semester Laundry Fee $30 per semester Parking Fee $30 per semester Double Occupancy Housing $2,300 per semester Single Occupancy Housing $3,300 per semester
  • Does MC offer a payment plan?
    Yes If the student has a balance due to Messenger College after financial aid is applied, a Payment Plan Agreement may be made with the Business Office. There is a one-time fee of $25 for initiating a payment plan in any given semester. Payments may be made in four equal installments during the semester as indicated by the Payment Plan Agreement.
  • What types of loans are available?

  • What is the student's responsibility concerning Financial Aid?
    It is the responsibility of each student to carefully review and understand all documentation, including but not limited to, their Enrollment Agreement, Application, Award Letter, Master Promissory Note, school catalog, Guide to Financial Aid, and all loan disclosures, regarding their financial aid rights and responsibilities. Students are also required to know their current aggregate amounts borrowed under all loan programs and amounts received under the Pell Grant program. Changing programs, institutions, attendance level, along with failing or dropping courses, will directly impact SAP and financial aid eligibility and aggregate amounts.
  • What is student entrance counseling?
    The Department of Education requires all college students to complete Entrance Counseling. This is to make sure you understand all your rights and responsibilities of student loans. You can complete your entrance counseling at www.studentloans.gov When financial aid is awared, the student will receive a personal letter detailing the amount and type(s) of aid awarded to them. The award letter will also contain additional instructions and links to completing Entrance Counseling and other documentation required to begin receiving Federal Financial Aid.
  • How do I access the Financial Aid Portal?
    Contact a member of our Financial Aid Team at finaid@messengercollege.edu or by phone at 817-591-4350 / fax 817-591-4344. Accepted / Admitted students will be able to register online via our Financial Aid Portal. You will need to access your School ID, which is also your Student ID, located under the My Profile section of your Populi (Student Portal) homepage. Your username (college email alias) and password were created for you when you were admitted as a student. Contact enrollment@messengercollege.edu with questions.   • Veterans Education Act
    Contact the local Veterans Affairs office in your region or visit www.gibill.va.gov to learn about varying financial assistance for veterans, disabled veterans, and their dependents. The Veterans Education Act provides varying levels of assistance to eligible veterans, disabled veterans, and their dependents. If you are a veteran or the dependent of a veteran, contact the local Veterans Affairs office in your region, visit www.gibill.va.gov
  • Information Disclosed to Students Regarding the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)
    Disclosure requirement: publicly disclosed and made available through appropriate publications, mailings, or electronic media. Information disclosed to students or parents of students who enter into an agreement regarding a Title IV, HEA loan that the loan will be submitted to NSLDS and accessible by authorized agencies, lenders, and institutions [HEOA 489 amended HEA Sec. 485B] Students and parents of students are advised that if they enter into a Title IV, HEA loan, the loan data will be submitted to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), and will be accessible by guaranty agencies, lenders, and institutions determined to be authorized users of the data system. ​ The NSLDS Privacy Impact Assessment may be accessed at: https://www2.ed.gov/notices/pia/nslds_111607.pdf Additional information regarding the National Student Loan Data System may be accessed at: https://nslds.ed.gov
